We stayed on Prince Edward Island Thursday, June 23, and Friday, June 24. We were camped at Cavendish Campground in the Prince Edward island National Park. Our campsite could not have been better…..we were just a short walk down to Cavendish Beach.
With its pink sand, and beautiful sand dunes…..and shells everywhere……
I don’t know what it is about beaches……we are drawn to them, as if sharing a primordial kinship…….
We are drawn by the rhythm of the waves and the tides……We recognize in ourselves those same rhythms……..
We are drawn to the ocean……both with a calm peacefulness……..and a tinge of fear, of the unknown? ………or at least a healthy dose of respect for the force of the seas……..
That line where the beach meets the ocean marks both the end and a beginning…….We recognize the finality…….yet, look to it with excitement and a sense of adventure….….
Prince Edward Island, with its rolling hills, farmlands, beaches, and its friendly people and unique island culture and identity…..will stand out as a favorite spot. One that I would come back to…to spend a month or so……strolling the beaches, shopping the craft stores, and soaking up the Island……..
