Friday Aug 28th – We awoke to a beautiful day! Clear skies and some of the smoke had cleared out with the rain. Today we had scheduled a scenic float on the Snake River.
We met our float company – Solitude- at Moose Junction. From there we drove 10 miles up River and put in at Dead Man’s Bar.
This was quite different than the paddle raft on the Yellowstone River that we had taken earlier in the week We were on a much larger raft with 13 guests. The guide stood in the center and manned the oars.
This would be a quiet scenic float – no whitewater- just beautiful scenery.
We finally got the view of the Tetons that we had been waiting for.
It was lovely……
A very peaceful morning…..
We ended our rafting right back in Moose Junction. I had been told that the thing to do while in Moose was to have lunch at Dornan’s – a restaurant and cabins along the Snake River. We sat outside, enjoying our lunch with a magnificent view of Grand Teton.
